You can now utilize our editing service and enjoy the benefits no matter how you intend on publishing your book.
How Does the Editing Process Work?
After you submit your payment, you will be assigned a professional MindStir Media book editor as well as a dedicated project manager. Your project manager will be your primary contact person, collecting your manuscript and also acting as the liaison between you and the editor. This setup streamlines the process and allows the editor to focus solely on editing and not customer service. As your manuscript is being edited, your project manager will be available five days per week to answer any of your questions. Your book editor will use “track changes” within Microsoft Word, so when your project manager provides you with the fully edited file, you’ll be able to see every single change that has been made to your manuscript. Using track changes, you’ll also be able to accept or reject each and every change. This puts the power in your hands!
How Much Does this Book Editing Service Cost?
Our price is $0.045 per word (per round of editing) for light to medium book editing. This type of editing is usually reserved for manuscripts that are already in fairly good shape and do not require any rewriting or structural changes. We will focus primarily on grammatical, punctuation, spelling and usage issues. A full-length book of 75,000 words, for instance, will be billed at $3,375.
Heavy editing is reserved for manuscripts that need structural/developmental editing with rewrites. The price is $0.075 per word (per round of editing).
Our minimum editing charge for picture books is $500 (usually less than 2,000 words).
