- Paperback: This children’s book format is generally less expensive to produce, so you can set a lower retail price for consumers. This might encourage a higher volume of print sales.
- Hardcover: Probably the most popular children’s book format, hardcover is more durable and prestigious than paperback. Look at many of the most famous “storybooks” and you’ll notice that they are available in the hardcover format. Self-publishing a hardcover children’s book should be a top priority.
- Ebook: This digital format is growing rapidly in nearly all genres. Since there are no printing costs associated with this format, the ebook retail price can be listed even lower than the paperback format. In this economy, having a low-cost option is nearly always a good idea.
